The Nelson X-base Trestle Table

The Nelson has a solid oak top sitting on two X-shaped end frames tied together with a center stretcher. Since there are no legs in the way along the sides, chairs push all the way in anywhere at the table and a Nelson trestle bench tucks completely underneath.

This style is named after Gaylord Nelson, the Wisconsin governor and U.S. senator who started Earth Day. The X base looks bold on its own, but it sits really well with Kettle ladder back, Olson X-back, Hattie double X-back, or Pearl wide slat chairs, and together they make a dining room that won't go out of style.

You can get the legs painted white or black, or make them natural hardwood so the whole table matches.

We use a premium Italian LED hardwax oil that instantly cures when we shine a special UV light over it. This plant-based finish can be spot repaired, so scratches are not a major concern. Read more about our finish here.
