The Nicolet has a solid hardwood top with a natural finish, sitting on 5 inch square legs. Each leg has a chamfered edge that runs all the way down to the floor, which gives it a clean, sturdy look without being plain. Breadboard ends and a matching bench are both available.

This style is named after Jean Nicolet, the French explorer who landed near Green Bay in 1634 and is often credited as the first European to set foot in what's now Wisconsin. Kettle ladder back, Olson X-back, or Pearl wide slat chairs work well with it, and so does the Aldo shaker bench.

What finish is used?
We use a premium Italian LED hardwax oil that instantly cures when we shine a special UV light over it. This plant-based finish can be spot repaired, so scratches are not a major concern. Read more about our finish here.
